Academy UniformThe Alford Academy school uniform went through a refresh in 2015, following requests from pupils and a subsequent consultation process with pupils and parents.

For pupils in S1 – S3, the uniform is now as follows:

  • School tie
  • Plain white shirt (long or short sleeves)
  • Black fine knit V neck jumper* with embroidered school badge or black fine knit girls’ cardigan with embroidered school badge.

  • Standard black knee-length skirt as an option for girls
  • Black shoes or black trainer-type shoes

Pupils in the Senior Phase (S4 – S6) also wear a blazer, so for our senior pupils the uniform comprises:

  • School tie
  • Plain white shirt (long or short sleeves)
  • Black blazer* with embroidered school badge
  • Black fine knit V neck jumper* with embroidered school badge or black fine knit girls’ cardigan with embroidered school badge.

This is an optional item, depending on season & pupil preference.

  • Plain black tailored trousers for boys/girls
  • Standard black knee-length skirt as an option for girls
  • Black shoes or black trainer-type shoes

* Both the blazer and the V-neck jumper are available in different styles for boys/girls

Ordering & Purchasing Information

The School Tie

The school tie can be ordered direct from the Academy Admin Team. Please ask for an order form from campus reception, complete it and return to reception along with £5 payment.

School Jumpers, Cardigans and Blazers

These can be ordered direct from our supplier Academy Uniforms MPC Ltd. Items can be purchased from the company via their website www.academyuniformsltd.co.uk and delivered to home (a delivery charge will apply).

In addition, staff from Academy Uniforms come into school once a year, in June, to provide a fitting service for pupils and advise pupils and parents on appropriate sizes of blazer and jumper. A professional fitting is particularly important for the blazer. Uniform items can be purchased there and then, or ordered for a bulk delivery to the school (no additional delivery charge).

Letters will come home to advise parents and pupils in advance about the dates for the annual uniform fitting service, and to give information about current prices and purchase/delivery processes & options.
